"The bathroom is still tantalizingly incomplete. I bought window and door casings from Second Use and cut them to size, but now they’re sitting in my basement unsanded, unprimed, unpainted, and uninstalled."

The longer you let those casings sit, the less likely you are to actually do the project. Put your foot down and finish that bathroom!

Nice work. Are you available for outside projects? I have an acre with 52 trees. I don't think this service is in your area but this is a great way to make a pile without having to fill a bunch of bags.

...now if I can only find a cheap used brush chipper (6 to 10 inch capacity) on ebay.

We have a gardener who comes in from time to time to do some of the big stuff (like turning the rhododendron tree back into a bush), and we may eventually hire a crew to come in and do the really heavy lifting, but otherwise it's all us.

A lot of toddlers take time with grass and outside things in general. It is actually the rare kid that takes to it immediately. Some are just a big blase about it. It does go away. Around these parts its a bit of a joke to play on kids...

and the yard looks great! except the big pile of doom. you are doing this all yourself?

Terrified of grass??? That's a new one to me. My brother was afraid of pine cones, but we found out later that it was because an earwig crawled out of one.
