Nice work. Are you available for outside projects? I have an acre with 52 trees. I don't think this service is in your area but this is a great way to make a pile without having to fill a bunch of bags.

...now if I can only find a cheap used brush chipper (6 to 10 inch capacity) on ebay.

We have a gardener who comes in from time to time to do some of the big stuff (like turning the rhododendron tree back into a bush), and we may eventually hire a crew to come in and do the really heavy lifting, but otherwise it's all us.

A lot of toddlers take time with grass and outside things in general. It is actually the rare kid that takes to it immediately. Some are just a big blase about it. It does go away. Around these parts its a bit of a joke to play on kids...

and the yard looks great! except the big pile of doom. you are doing this all yourself?

Terrified of grass??? That's a new one to me. My brother was afraid of pine cones, but we found out later that it was because an earwig crawled out of one.

Actually I seem to have a facility for electrical. Once we hire the electrician to put in 200-amp service and a new panel, I'm good to go.

for what it's worth, the rest of the house won't be, unless you tackle the kitchen.

Bathrooms are probably the WORST room in the entire house to deal with, because there are so many things that can go so goddamn wrong. Kitchens may in fact be worse, I haven't tackled anything in there yet.

Essentially as long as you can avoid dealing with plumbing, you only have the hell of electrical to worry about, really. Unless you decide to replace the floors. in which case, HIRE PEOPLE NO REALLY SERIOUSLY I MEAN IT. Time it took me to pull out carpet & prep my house: over a week. Time it took for the skilled labor to come in & install flooring: 12 hours. done in a single day. The time-savings alone is worth the cost to your pocket. Not to mention the sanity savings.
